About
Siân Lucas is the holder of a 1+3 ESRC Studentship in Social Work. Her research interests lie in the field of diversity and progression in social work practice, with particular focus on linguistic services and service users’ experiences.
Siân’s PhD research focusses upon language rights in social work and the the narrative accounts of young people, who are used as informal interpreters between their parents/carers and professionals in social care.
Siân graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London as a Social Worker, specialising in Children’s and Families social work. Following work in social care and extensive travelling around the world, Siân has applied her interests of culture to the social work agenda.
